I was previously an nPower customer but they have now been taken over by e-on next. When I was with nPower they would send me an email every three months to ask for the reading from my Feed-in tariff meter for my solar panels. It was very simple!
Now my account has been taken over by eon the system is much more clunky! The last quarter I received a letter in the post asking me for the reading. This quarter I have not received any reminder but luckily I had made a note on my calendar so I logged in and submitted the reading.
It's not a major problem but I do wonder if some customers might miss out on submitting meter readings (there is a time window) and therefore the payments.
So some on Eon! Why don't you just set up an email reminder with a box to enter the reading and send it out every quarter. If you don't know how to do this then just contact someone from the old nPower team and they will tell you how to do it!

Hi ThorneBT. Are you on smart meter with export value, if so are still being estimated as to what is exported i.e 50% ?

@Landmark still going to defend them? This is exactly what I meant about their poor service

Landmark, I know you've replied because I get a copy of your reply, but when I click on the link in my notification to reply to you, I cannot find the post on the forum.

@Thornebt I had exactly the same experience but missed one reading as a result. nPower was so much slicker process. Also e.on has now decided that rather than pay me they have credited it to my account. They haven't replied to emails and getting through on the phone is impossible. Not impressed with the e.on experience so far at all

I can't find the post either. Do you have a record of it? If so can you quote me/paste it here?
It is normal to wait one year before getting any credits back. In the meantime, you ***can*** adjust you direct debit to a reasonably lower amount! -

The reason you canât see the posts is because the admins are not approving them. If you are subscribed to the thread you will get an email telling you when someone replies and what they said but if the admin doesnât approve the post, it doesnât go live on the site so you canât see it on here.
itâs another example of how bad the system they are using is. They have no clue how to run a forum -

We have to approve post due to SPAM. Please bear with us; with the Energy Crisis things have been slower than usual however personally I would rather moderate posts than then forum be filled with horrible links, SPAM etc etc.

Thanks RichTea. Yeh I thought that's what was happening, I was getting a copy the post but the post hadn't cleared admin. I was concerned when the first FIT was requested in June and the web page was a single little window to enter the value in.
My query has been answered by a direct communications with the FIT team, which is basically, if I didn't request metered output from my system then it goes on 50% consumption of generated power. But to move to metered output, I have to provide a photo of the export value (which is available to them remotely but I guess they are not set up to process this value).
Seems like a team that have been put together with limited resources because its something N power didn't want to do, or they see a way of money shuffling. -

It takes a few seconds to check if a post is spam or not. Half the ones that get through arenât even written in English so you canât blame it on that.
if Eon arenât interested in running a forum properly then shut it down. Eons approach to everything seems to be half arsed and do the bare minimum they can get away with. If youâd bought decent forum software you can even have used one that used AI to auto moderate posts. Hell it doesnât even need to be that complicated, if itâs a persons first post it gets checked, if theyâve made several it doesnât need modding. -
