Be very careful about what you click on in this forum group.
So many reports made about some posts and nothing has been done so far.
I just look at how many more suspicious posts are being made daily but keep very clear of some.

The company don’t care. There’s nearly 10 dodgy threads now and they’ve done nothing. It’s another example of how little they care about their customers

Exactly. It appears the company is becoming even worse as the weeks go by. I have challenged the Twitter team and Facebook about the posts and all you get is, the situation has been reported and I will get back to you when the IT team report back. Its a joke.

Never any acknowledgment about removing bad posts is typical on this forum group.

We want potential new and existing customers to explore the E.ON Next community and to find out what we are all about. We want it to be an inviting community with lovely, friendly, and welcoming members being a part of this exciting and fresh platform.

No plans for customer only post but apparently the above is the prefered option for now.
So avoid like the plague posts that look like Russian, invitations to blogs, requests for romance and other such things.
Lets keep it all lovely and friendly folks.

Having complained about dangerous posts on this forum group and being told that the company wants to keep it open to everyone regardless of being a customer because they want to welcome people who may become customers I am giving this warning.
Don't click on anything.
I just received a private message trying to get me to down down some software.
The company cannot be trusted to safeguard its customers.
Perhaps it's an attempt to drive me away perhaps.
I would not be surprised.

Good morning everyone. I'm so sorry if you've received a DM today that was spam. Thanks to those of you who have sent me a message and for being so understanding. I too had the same message.
Just to let you know that I've identified the user and permanently banned them. My team and I will continue to keep an eye out today for any more spam so that we can delete them. As I explained in my post on Friday here as soon as we spot any spam, we will delete and ban the user.
On Thursday I flagged the increase that we're seeing with the platform provider and sent over the info needed to look into further. When they are back in the office tomorrow, I'll explain what's been happening this weekend and see if we can get to the bottom of it and get sorted as quickly as possible.
I know I probably don't need to say this - but please don't click on any links on any post that looks a little odd, and if you have received a DM, you can delete it. The user has been banned.
Thanks so much for your help when you see that something that looks like spam, and I promise we will get to the bottom of it.

For a while today I thought stupidly enough that the stoppage of spam posts had been resolved.
But how wrong I was.
It's a very dangerous place for people to be if they are not IT savvy.

I strongly suspect they are actually bots or dummy accounts as well. They don’t actually seem to be able to resolve anything.

Speaking generally, bots are computer programs that execute repetitive tasks, and they usually operate over the Internet. A spam bot is a specific type of bot that sends (or helps with sending) spam messages. Spam is any inappropriate or unwelcome message that's pushed out to a large number of users. Usually, spam involves unwanted product advertisements, irrelevant backlinks (to attempt to get the linked website higher in search engine results), or more sinister things like scams or malware downloads. Spam can also be any content that's irrelevant and delivered in large volumes.
Like the robocalls that have plagued online users most online spam is fully automated by spam bots. Users are not interacting with a real person when they encounter a spam bot's handiwork, even if the bot appears to "respond" to user interactions. Instead, spam bots spread pre programmed messages or follow preprogrammed conversational scripts to interact with users.


Spam bots can create fake accounts on forums, social media platforms, messaging apps, or email hosting providers. Sometimes they'll try to disguise their activities as coming from a real user. Since creating a user account often only involves filling out a few fields (name, email address, etc.), attackers will program spam bots to fill out these forms automatically – a relatively simple task for a skilled programmer. Once spam bots have an account or otherwise have access to a platform, they will start pushing out spam messages according to a predetermined (by the bot creator) set of rules.
Other kinds of spam bots may assist spammers without actually sending the spam messages. Some spam bots harvest email addresses or phone numbers to provide targets for spammers – they scan the web, scrape contacts details and save it to a database.
Be extremely careful on this forum group.
Admin are doing their best but are fighting a losing battle so far.

Not to do so is now bordering on a very serious situation with regards customer safety.
And what's damned annoying is the fact the headline I am the new Guy should point admin to their origins.
But it appears not so far.

7. Run regular backups – to prepare for the worst case scenario.

For weeks we are told we are clamping down on Spam posts but they still they keep coming.
This morning 9/6/2021 there were two more at 6-15am.
Useless is to mild a description.
Negligence is better.
Do not click on anything in the Help and Support forum as its to dangerous.
Perhaps if we all stop posting then the supposed management might start taking things seriously.

Pure customer negligence.

I wonder how many people have been scammed as a result of their negligence. It’s actually crazy they clearly can’t deal with even basic stuff.

I would love to see their employee engagement metrics. I imagine working for such a company is incredibly demoralising. Probably better not speak out though as they’ll end up like all the NPower staff
