i do understand your frustration, I have trying to get a metre sorted since day 1, still no luck.
finally I get a text saying we can do you a more just fill in the online form. I filled in the form and it said I was too late?
I emailed, I have used Twitter and back and forth with messages to 3 maybe 4 different operators. Server errors this server errors that what a mess.
I have PM’d Beth but no reply I have rang and been told that the company didn’t even send the message, although after the call the exact same number sent me a message asking how did we do. -

To be honest, I didn't plan on revealing myself as who I really am, but I do get a bit tempted sometimes. All I've chosen to say to date is that I'm mainly a forum volunteer elsewhere, you can probably figure out who I am but I'm not going to make that challenge too easy. In some ways however, it's worth noting that what works for one person doesn't work for everyone. This is why I'm on this forum but otherwise have no links with E.On.
With that being said, I'm not a fan of people hijacking forums to advertise other stuff, especially competing stuff which is another reason I don't openly reveal which forum I'm mainly found on. And in fact, I would usually flag that sort of thing to the moderators on my home forum if the account posting the content appears to be a single-purpose account.
This forum might not be perfect (far from it in fact), but that's why I'm here. -

And I might suggest you sound like you work for Eon. Considering the way they seem to game their reviews on certain sites as well I wouldn’t put it past them.
as for arbitrary figures, it’s not difficult to do a comparison. There are dozens of sites dedicated to it. -

Perhaps I should reveal myself after all. I can definitely say that I don't work for E.On. The community moderators here would no doubt verify that if asked. My writing style is known for making people think I work for a company, but if I did then I'd have a rank or tag that would say so. I don't touch review sites myself, not worth my time.
This is the closest clue I'll reveal about who I am. That guide was written purely by me and me alone, although I did get feedback from a few people to help improve it. I'm a verified customer of OVO, not of E.On. The primary reason I come on here as well is purely to make sure people who come over here get the right answers about the stuff I know (mainly smart meters). I don't get special perks from either side for helping out on the forums either other than people saying thanks. I do it purely on a volunteer basis and if I wanted to, I could just leave anytime.
Sure, different username means it's harder to prove it really is me. But I have reasons for that. If you really want to have me prove it's the same person on both sides, feel free to send me a PM via both forums and ask me to send you a response that only you would recognise.
And as I've always said, price alone isn't the only thing to consider. Octopus might be pretty cheap, but that doesn't mean they're the best for everyone. -

Ah ok, fair enough. Unfortunately, it's just another bug in this forum as I've had nightmares with that not working properly. That's what happens when you take vBulletin, throw a completely incompatible custom template on top of it and then "Hack vBulletin Core" with custom scripts and other stuff that isn't really designed to work with it. This particular instance looks completely different from all others as a result and it's definitely not meant to look like this in a vanilla state. It's almost as terrible as Khorus, but not quite as bad (but only because just about anything is better than Khorus).
