Hi there, lovely to meet you!
I'm Hattie/Hats/Hat/H which ever you like, as long as it's not my Sunday name!
If this is your first visit to the E.ON Next Community - then a very warm welcome, it's lovely to see you!
I'd really love to get to know you all so we've created this space where everyone can say hi and share a bit about themselves.
This community is for you to offer help and advice to each other, but it's also a social community, and with things as they are in the world right now, we could all do with a bit of virtual socialising!
I'll go first with a bit about me - I'm Hattie, and I've got the lucky job of being the community owner and manager. I'm a crazy sausage dog lady, into anything arty, have an unhealthy addiction to shoes and love anything funny!
Now your turn - (here's some things to get you started!)
- Why did you decide to join the community?
- How are you finding it?
- What fills your spare time?
- What's a really funny fact about yourself?
Finish your intro with a random question for the next member to answer.
So that's all for now, and please say hi below!

How do I say bye? I didnt sign up to eon, I have received nothing telling me that I can get out of my current contract as that was with npower not with eon?
-

Hi there, so all npower customers are moving over to E.ON Next. A while ago you should've received a note with changes to your T's&c's from npower, and then a couple of follow up emails from us to say that we're starting to move you over and then when you're account is live. You can of course move on if we don't seem like a good fit, but obviously we'd hate to see you go. If you do decide to leave though - then don't worry - there won't be any exit fees, just get in touch with a new supplier. Hat

25-01-21FatladMoved over from nPower
Must admit, I didn't take much notice of the change over, but what a step backwards when it comes to the NPower app and tracker.
Yours is basically, "here's your bill thanks."
Unless I am missing something, there are not comparisons to previous years ( could have been carried over from npower?) no predictions, no comparisons to other similar customers in the area.
Also for some reason, my smart meter readings stopped on 3rd Dec and your system is telling me to send in a reading. Whats that about? -
27-01-21IanH
Hi, I am also an ex-npower customer.
How long are we supposed to wait for our smart meters to start working properly?
Currently no data is being shown.
No readings are being sent through to you, your excuse is that 'when you connect to them' - please provide a timescale for this connection?
You have decided to change your billing to monthly, I don't need this much information, but, I am unable to change the frequency?
You tell me that my meter hasn't been read for 52 days, but, you also show a meter reading for change of supply, 22 days ago for Electricity.
Why do your notifications contradict themselves?
No notification of change of supply for Gas, why not?
This is a pretty poor user experience. -

Is there an "Adult" mode on the website somewhere. I didn't know that once I went from npower to Eon, I regressed to a 5 yr old.
Where is actual information like we used to have. This is meant to be a green energy company, but you have taken away any way we used to have to actually see if our energy usage is going down.
I also want to see what you are expecting us to spend and therefore basing our repayments on. Can we have the old website back, just put one of the silly suns in the corner or something. -
04-02-21Hatwildeman_EONNext
Hi DaveyDerby, thanks for your thoughts. Our characters won't be everyone's cup of tea, we get that, but they are here to stay. Hopefully you'll become a little more fond of them over time.
In terms of the comparison information etc, it's in development now. We're starting E.ON Next from scratch using different tech, systems and ways of working, so constantly building and improving. So if you can just bear with a little longer, we should have something on the website soon. I'll keep you guys on here posted.

Hi @ianH. Thanks for the post. Sorry to hear you're one of the customers who've been impacted by the Smart meter issue. It's quite common when there is a change of supply, which is why we started to include it on the welcome comms so it didn't come too much of a surprise.
I've just replied to another post below - the comparison info is currently being built and we're hoping to release on the website soon.
There's quite a bit of info on why we do monthly billing on the 'Why we bill monthly' widget.
The issue with your last meter reading date on the your online account - there was a bug that we've worked on. If it's still the case now, let me know and i'll report it to tech guys. -
04-02-21DaveyDerby
Thanks for your response Hatty, it might have been an idea to stick with the old tech until the new tech was fully ready. As for a first impression of a new provider to a customer to be feeling as if its a backwards step is not exactly a good first impression.

Agree bout the smart meter.
However, I've received the Gas statement but where is the Electricity statement. -

Hi @Barb, do you want me to take a look for you? If so just send over your details in a private message. Hat

Hi @aspenbat great to hear from you and welcome to the community. It's so nice to see more people joining. At last count there were 300 registered members now :)
Great news that your experience has been a good one so far. You've got lots of lovely people here to help if you need any advice etc, and I'm also just a post or DM away!

Hi everyone
I've signed up to e.on next today via a price comparison site, so far I've been impressed with the online portal, personally I like the simple format (much nicer than the main e.on portal I remember from being with e.on previously)and sorry to the earlier poster, I love the emojis 🌞🔥💧I think they're cute 🤫☺I enjoy a good chin wag and comedy films so always happy to help on here if I can and if we have a chuckle along the way even better 😃 -

Hi Hat and everyone here
Like you Mike, I also signed up by checking the latest deals going and found Eon Next (a big trustworthy supplier) offering a good deal with low standing charges and moderate per usage on both Electric and Gas, giving me incentive to cut my consumption to save even more which is a Win Win, so here I am!
I decided to join this community forum because I wanted to get the most out of Eon Next customer care, not just for myself but participate in promoting it for the community. I have previous experience that this has potential to benefit everyone, as long as they think like me and positively participate.
Seems a bit early to tell how this forum is going, give it another year and I'll give some feedback then on it, but so far so good.
I love to travel and explore the world and take an interest in environmental protection and how humankind is going to cope given the current circumstances, however, in the lockdown I have spent most time reading up on such matters, and brushing up on my general science knowledge.
Although I turned out to be a mere cleaner, seem to have accepted my fate and consider myself a happy bunny (I was born in the year of the Rabbit:-) -

Chinwag is my middle name @mikedundee!
Glad you like our characters. I love them too - they make me smile. But totally understand that for some, they're just not their thing.
And hi @landmark - love your reasons for joining the community - great to have you. Year of the rabbit hey! I think i'm the monkey? Wonder what other animals we have here?? -

Hi to the Community.
This is a little different to a certain ISP forum I am involved with but I'm sure it will be fun.
I'm inbound from Npower for better or worse. -

Hi
I’ve just migrated over from ‘Power Shop’. The PS app was great, I could see at a glance my daily usage.
Can I join your (app) beta testing? -

@Markus Hi there, of course you can. I'll just drop you a DM with some details. Hat

As for others here, I feel that both nPower and Eon have made money out of my business without asking my permission or giving credit for being a customer. I am sick of eon threatening to add £10 to my bill. To coin a phrase you say hello and I say goodbye, I have never switched suppliers at all but your mealy mouthed approach has driven me to a web comparison site. Can't wait to kiss you lot farewell

Hi I'm Liz and I've joined today as organisation who has been moved over from N-Power and to see if I get any response about my question on FIT since I have tried emailing and phoning and I too am not getting any response from the FIT Team.

Hi there - I joined the community as it seems to be the only way to get customer service after 10 minutes on hold (I don't have the relevant social media accounts), it's taken me at least 25 minutes to get here ... very weird experience.
Can you tell me if and how e.on next will be prepared to install a smart meter please? There's no results that I kind find that indicate you do this.
Thanks!
Rupert -

Hi PlymSolar, I am experiencing the same complete lack of interest from EON since my move from N-Power. I will be stopping my monthly payments to EON, I have already logged a formal complaint and the Ombudsman will be hearing from me as soon as the eight week period without resolution is completed. -

@Hatwildeman
Hi Hattie, I am a new customer who came across to e-on next from Bulb in June. Unfortunately due to the position of our Gas meter we could not have a smart meter installed. On Thursday 1st July your company requested a meter reading. The electric reading was fine and very happy with the prices. Unfortunately even though it gives my opening reading I seemed to have someone's elses account reading as the meter reading that comes down is nothing like mine. Also a warning comes up saying that the reading is very high. I emailed on Thursday for your guy's to sort it and have not heard a peep. ( Bad service ) Lucky I only have a gas hob so my bills for gas never exceed £7.00 a month. Please could you give your colleagues a prompt to investigate and contact me so I can give you a meter reading for gas.
Regards

I've just had a Smart Meter installed and would like to see the current meter readings for my Economy 7 tariff but there are no instructions available for the type of meter that has been installed which is a Toshiba SKU1 Cellular (SMETS2). Can you tell me how to do that and how often the reading will be uploaded to your system?
-
15-07-21Hatwildeman_EONNext
@Philip, Hi there, have you had an In home display left with you so that you can keep an eye on the readings without the need to go to the meter? We'll get a read from the meter every month, but you can see them whenever you like.

@Philip Hi.
Firstly, let me introduce myself. I'm a forum volunteer on one of the other community forums run by a different energy supplier. I'm not with E.On myself. However, I can help with solving certain puzzles which I do a lot at my home base. The username you see of me here is not my main username I use elsewhere.
Your meter is a SMETS2 EDMI ES-10B with an S2 Toshiba SKU1 Cellular Communications Hub. They're actually two separate components, but grabbing Economy 7 meter readings from an S2 EDMI is actually not too tricky, even without the IHD handy. If you press the OK button once, the meter should offer to show you billing related info, press OK again when you see this. You should then be able to grab both readings from R1 and R2. If memory serves, R1 is the Night reading, while R2 is the Day reading. If you get stuck, feel free to give me a shout and I can double check my notes. I've got records on hand for how to grab readings from just about any meter whether it be a traditional meter, S1, S1+ (which is a term I personally coined) and S2. I simply need to know the make and model for the most part. The rest is fairly simple.
I hope this helps. -
21-07-21theunknowntech
Anyway, I guess I should introduce myself properly as well. I just wanted to make sure I remembered to give some handy tips first.
- Why did you decide to join the community?
- I'm actually not with E.On at all but I've been watching the community in stealth mode for months. I mainly joined purely to help people out with answering tricky questions.
- How are you finding it?
- Not really sure. It's been years since I last used any forums that run on vBulletin, so it's taking ages to get used to this beast again.
- What fills your spare time?
- I'm a tech guru, but most of my spare time is actually helping people out elsewhere on the community forum of my energy supplier. About 98% of my spare time actually.
- What's a really funny fact about yourself?
- My username is a joke but it's also to hide my real username that I use everywhere else. You might find a few clues as to who I really am. But I am a mysterious person. Let's just say that.

Hi all!
Thought I should come an introduce myself as you might have seen me pop up and answer a few questions already.
I started working for E.ON Next in October and really excited that I was mainly brought on board to support with this community. I'll be the new head of community (don't worry, we're letting Hat stick around as community owner) so you'll see me around a lot!
So I'm Hannah, or Han if you prefer to save typing a few letters! And apart from being super excited to finally be here, I spend most of my time looking after my daughter and sausage dog (still not sure who takes up the most time to be honest!). Any spare time I do have is sadly spent watching awful TV such as I'm a Celeb, Married at First Sight and Love Island but don't judge me on that - it's just very easy TV to switch off to! Also a big fan of eating out and discovering new restaurants so always open to suggestions.
Lovely to meet you all and hopefully we get to know each other even better as I spend more time here :) -

I'll solve it in ten seconds flat and this is only my first post!! If I get it right, I no longer owe you a beer ;)
12 months ago. Ovo forum. You're either Bliose(sorry, spelling) OR that other ever helpful, patient guy that brought me back from the brink of madness with my dispute with an SSE bill (for a flat that was empty for 9 weeks before I moved in) I'd have to log in to the OVO forum for your proper name, don't make me, come clean, am I right? :)
Cheers -

Hello everyone :)
Intro for me
Why did you decide to join the community?
I'm no stranger to online forums: Indiamike, Money Saving Expert & OverclockersUK are three favourite ones. I'm sure I'll find this one useful in the months to come.
How are you finding it?
Well it's fairly new, hopefully it'll grow to the size of the OVO forums and beyond. I honestly think the forum should be easier to find - stick a link at the top of the page.
What fills your spare time?
Movies & gaming. About to start Far Cry 6 (which was FREE with a purchase of a new Samsung SSD). Also about to start watching Slasher season 4 on Shudder TV
What's a really funny fact about yourself?
You got me on this, I can't think of anything :)

Nope, wrong answer! :D
You don't owe any beer anyway (that's not even me who said you did!), I don't like the stuff. Nor does Blastoise186 for that matter. I'm actually one of Blastoise's friends and he's been teaching me a lot over the last year. He would help out here himself, but unfortunately as an evil genius, he's quite busy dominating other forums (mainly OVO and inSpired), so he asked me if I could help out here instead (otherwise he would be here himself!). Neither of us are with E.On in any way other than this forum though. We chat a lot, pretty much at least three times a week to share ideas and bounce things off each other. I'll let him know you said hi.
Typical evil geniuses eh? Always delegating to minions. To be fair, he's taught me a lot and I'm aiming to use that knowledge to help out in places where Blastoise can't due to time constraints.
