I have a fully electric flat which has 2 separate single phase 100a feeds into it, one which only services the boiler and the other for everything else and the hot water tank. They are both connected to a mechanical time switch for day and night, I assume for economy 7 which I presently don’t have a tariff for. I’m trying to get smart meters but I’m being told they can only do it if they remove one of the feeds, which I’m not sure will be enough given all of the draw. Why can’t I maintain my two feeds with two smart meters?

It sounds as though it's something we need to investigate further and I would advise to give our customer services a call on 0808 501 5200 lines are open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, as they will be able to confirm if we can offer smart meters if both meters are in use. 😊

What is the power rating of the boiler ( kW ) according to its instruction manual or a search online for the user guide of the part number on its label?
Smart meters cost (somebody else) many hundreds of pounds so it is not a good thing to get two if you don't need two. One smart meter and a bigger fuse and cable if necessary should do.
We have a single MPAN (and single incoming feed) this is split via the DNO cut-out box into 2 single phase 100a feeds and a single phase ?a feed that goes to the DNO mechanical time switch.
Each 100a feed from the cut out box has a single set of tails that goes to a single 4 terminal meter with day and night readings triggered by the mechanical time switch, importantly there is no fifth terminal on these meters so that circuits can only operate on a day or night tariff, they are normal meters and could be swapped with normal 4 terminal smart meters.
Exiting the first meter is a single set of meter tails to the main consumer unit feeding all the flat electrics and a vented thermal storage tank heating the hot water via a heat exchanger on a programmable time switch (due to flat design no unvented tank can be fitted).
Exiting the second meter is a single set of tails to a fused switch and SWA to a second consumer unit which feeds the electric heat only boiler, pump and programmable thermostat (I assume originally this might have been a storage heater on a time switch or some other heating solution).
If you put all on one meter the diversity calculation would be about 120a (I guess the very reason why 2 x 100a feeds were built into the flats when the warehouse was restored and the flats built (there are about 115 flats in the same building all with the same set up none of which have been able to get smart meters yet)).
So I guess the rephrased question is when 2 meters are fed from the same MPAN can these be replaced for smart meters, customer service were helpful but keep referring to "something else" needing doing and that I should continue to chase
no progress. I can’t switch to a single incoming supply, as mentioned in the extensive explanation of the flats electrics the draw is too much for a single 100a feed.
it seems like the flat has a three phase incoming which is split into the three single phase supplies (two meters and a mechanical time switch).
eon have said it needs to liaise with the network but have provided no updates for three months so my assumption now is eon will not supply smart meters, along with the incredibly poor invoicing this is likely amongst the reasons I switch supplier when my current term ends.
