I can’t find it again so am posting afresh. On the telegraph website was an article enthusing about the tradition in Germany of a short period once or twice a day of opening all the home windows to exchange the internal air. Apparently 5 minutes is enough. While some heat is lost, it’s not long enough to cool walls and furniture, so normal living conditions are soon restored once the windows are closed again
And it would also serve as a keep fit regime.
