For completness, and to help others that might be searching the forum in the future...

The IHD draws a few mA. The supply capability of a phone 'charger' is going to be way above the requirements.
The one supplied with the Chameleon states 500mA output... so anything of that OR MORE, will be fine.
There isn't any mechanism for any load on the output side of the PSU to blow a fuse.

All USB cables are in fact 'standard' - there are of course different types of connector, but we are only talking about USB-micro for the Chameleon.

Starting to doubt the obvious, I have just run up a Chameleon IHD on my desk, happily powered from a USB lead.
This simple advice could have saved the OP £50.
