Invitation From Bright

Following advice from others on this community message board I previously installed the Bright Energy App on my mobile phone and paired it with my smart meter in house display (IHD) so that I could view my historical energy usage accurate to 30 minutes. Eon Next is unable to provide this information.

I have just received from Bright an invitation to join their new Glow Delight service which is their version of Demand Flexibility Service.

Despite meeting all the targets I'm consistently being told by Eon Next that I have failed multiple Energy Shift events so I think I will give Bright a go.

All DFS particpants Inc Eon Next and Hildebrand Technology Ltd (who run Bright) have it laid down by National Grid ESO how they calculate the operational baseline for each event period. And this specifies ATM the number of days used and specifies how IDA (in day adjustment) is to be used in working out this operational baseline.

The DFS participants are varied in how the payments that they receive from NGESO (which will include IDA) are channeled back to the customers.

    Hey @Actual,

Have you taken part in the Bright App shift yet? If so how did you get on with it, did you find there was much of a difference?

    Hi @DebF_EONNext

Bright do not have paid subscribers and so they can't offer money off an energy bill and so as an alternative incentive they offer entry into a £1000 prize draw. As stated by National Grid "Each energy provider will have individual incentives for their campaigns" and so they don't need to take in day adjustments into account but we don't know if they follow in the lead of Eon Next and just make it up as they go along.

Anyway I wasn't sure if I would yet receive a belated invitation to the Eon Next Energy Shift and so I didn't participate in any Bright Glow Delight event yet but I did make sure that I concentrated my power usage to the period of the event and I managed to clock up 4.74 kWh. Petty I know but that is my mindset on this subject.

So did you participate in the Eon Next event of 21st Febuary?

Without IDA (as confirmed by Eon Next) the only way to make any money is to reduce your baseline usage for the event period (1730-1830) but it sounds like you went out of your way to increase it. Or am I reading your post incorrectly?
