If I move from EON what happens to my credit? I have a couple of hundred pounds (all from the government help scheme). Will they transfer it to my new account or send me the money?

If you transfer to a new supplier, on changeover day you will submit final meter readings or have a smart meter reading taken. They will calculate your final bill and then refund you any outstanding amount. Balances cannot normally he transferred to your new supplier directly.

If you move supplier within the month for which the credit is issued by the government, it will be claimed back pro rata.
If the money in your account includes a payment for January, but you change supplier half way through January then they will take half of the January payment back. It is up to your new suppler to then give you their pro rata share of January's payment. That's how I think it works.
They can't touch any credit or Government payments for Oct, Nov and Dec because those months have been and gone.
