Its clearly not in Eon Next's interest not to sent out statements, irrespective of whether they are getting money in via Direct Debits.
Personally I wouldn't worry if I didn't get a statement. I can upload my readings (don't have and don't want a smart meter!) and work out for myself what I'm using/spending.
If you don't get statements/bills from your supplier for more than 12 months the supplier can only back bill the most recent12 months of supplies - the earlier part is written off. Unfortunately I've never been in this happy situation but one can live in hope. So its not in Eon Next's interest not to send you bills/statements either.
