Hi.

I'm completely New to the whole smart meter thing, so please don't shout at me for asking what may seem a basic question.

I was wondering how I am able to find out how I can see what times the off peak / economy 7 / economy 10 times are for my meter?

At my old address there wasn't a smart meter, but the economy 7 times were set by the main meter which changed over at 02:00 to 08:00 daily.

Knowing the times helps us to set appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers up to take advantage of the cheaper rates.

I can't, but one of the other volunteers @theunknowntech can assist with this if you can give an indication of where you live (town / part postcode). The timings are region specific.

You're actually right on the border between two regions. But I'm going to lucky guess this one. Either way, for you it's Peak from 7am to midnight and Off-Peak from midnight to 7am. Please be advised that these times might be an hour later in the summer.

Many thanks for the responces. Is there a more acurate way of me actually finding out for sure? I don't want to set things and get them wrong, particularly as you mention that I am on the border of two different regions!

Check the meter at the suggested start time to see if the night rate starts to move up?

The times should be the same for both sides of the border in your case. But I can definitely get a second opinion! Hang in there for a bit, as I'll need to get @PeterT_EONNext to stop by.

I've had a look at your account and you don't seem to have an Economy 7 meter, so it wouldn't make a difference no matter what time of the day/night you're using your electricity?

Please forgive me if I'm wrong here, I'm just going from the information for the account we have linked to your email address, so I'm unsure if you're referring to another property or not (if so, please don't post the address here of course)

Is it the case that @Stevie010 has moved to a different property and is assuming its economy 7 (like in the previous property) but in reality it isn't. If the smart meter has been there longer than Stevie101 has then we have our answer.
