I still don't know what is being difficult and whether level 2 means very difficult or not very difficult. I don't know either whether a speed of 0kH/s is good or bad, for me or the site.

If it makes the forum a safer place it's definitely worth the inconvenience.
I've done enough bitcoin mining to recognise that you are being tested not on whether you are a real human, but on whether or not you are on a real live computer. I've read that sneaky imposter AI can now be trained to virtual-machine "looking" at the screen display, pause for as long as a typical human should while reading that, move the mouse about in the usual human way, and pretend enough to fool that class of test. I reckon that if you've paid real money for one or more electricity bills, or typed in a "getting started" account number or code which arrived by paper post to a real address somewhere, those indicated that you were human better than any pestilent login stopper like that pictured.
There are several types of AI around, and Radio4 interviewed a nasty one today called Grok about the truthfulness of something inflamatory about certain types of people which it had made up and posted on X. For a while it persevered, giving politician-like answers which sort of mostly asserted that what it had said was based on a freedom of information request to a reputable UK public body. When challenged further about no such FOI having been received by that public body, it still tried to be slippery and lie its way out of trouble. That is, the fact-checking effort to stamp out a lie from a certain type of AI is now considerable. Therefore it is better that visitors to this forum must not include unmarked 3rd party AI, in case some of those are going to tell lies or otherwise make trouble.
To be sure of that, absolutely don't give anything of value to Anubis Techaro. Theirs looks like a test which a datacentre hosting midrange imposter bots might even pass, though a datacentre hosting cheaper text-only bots would fail. Not worth annoying the customers for that, I say.
Thanks again @geoffers. It's all beyond me, so sorry for wasting your time. @WizzyWigg I'm afraid I don't know how a forum like this could ever be dangerous. What risks do you think this Anubis creature protects us from?
@wizzo227 What 'testing' is going on? The page I showed earlier just sits there doing nothing visible for periods varying from less than a second to several seconds. I've never interacted with it, so how does it decide that I'm to be trusted?

@Firedog - it's checking that you're not an automatic robot (hence the name bot) which may post innocuous looking messages with possible embedded hyperlinks which could then take people to dangerous sites if they click on then
