    It's not a problem with the smart meters, another provider are now pulling readings down every 30 minutes and doing real-time billing basically after I switched away from e.on next.

    don't listen to them, it's just the usual empty customer care waffle because they can't seem to do the bare minimum.

    That's what I thought. My Smart Meter IS still working and the display showing everything correctly. e.g., usage, tariff etc., and IS SMETS2 which means that it IS still connected to the grid (WAN) and should be able to be read by suppliers without delay!
