Got electric readings for the last week now. Was showing 3p pings before but I understand these to be tests on the meter read. Backfill hasn't happened yet so that'll be a batch job any day now and then should backdate it (in ombudsman writing) and we'll be finally good 🤞🤞

Well I'm guessing it's a split and splice automated issue now. Can't see any updates from eon next anywhere so leaving us all in the dark. Disappointing really. Would be nice to get an update so we know if our data will get backfilled or not. Nevermind if they so somehow take 12 months to do that then that's 3 months free electric under ofgem laws since my meters work now 😊

@Indyk_EONNext Thank you for letting me know. Someone at octopus and also an Ai search told me the MHHS issue shouldn't affect eon next getting readings. Still don't know how true it is or not but it's in the ombudsman hands at the moment so I'm just waiting for their investigation. Hopefully it'll all work soon and it really is the issue. Again thank you for letting me know :D
    Just wanted to reach out.
I have had very very similar experience to you @Purgey. My case is in the "investigation" stage with the ombudsman as well (for 17 days now).

I have also been given various excuses, and delays at every stage.

I was offered a 60:40 split for my electricity from joining until end of May but then no solution after that. I declined that offer. Eon's final offer via the ombudsman was the same offer plus £70 cash. But that would still leave me on variable non EV tariff until next March!

    I'll post any updates.

@damos oh they offered a 60/40 split? My ombudsman case is closed now but I got £200 goodwill (for the extreme amount of lies eon next told throughout so was for bad customer service), letter of apology and a confirmed "split and splice" once the meter was reading. Unfortunately the meter still hasn't backfilled so clearly there's an issue there with the automated script. Sucks that not one person from eon nexts team can admit that and say if a fix will be out.

I've just stopped my mother joining when she asked me for a refferal code. Said to stay away and not touch them with a barge pole so she's stayed with octopus. I'm not giving them another customer when they can't treat their current ones properly. Especially a family member. It's not fair for me to put all this on someone else.

My ombudsman lieson replied to me asking about it stating:
"I completely understand your concerns about the back fill of data prior to 18th june. At this moment, we do not have a specific timeframe for when this backfill will be applied to your account. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that we are actively monitoring the situation and working to resolve it as soon as possible. Once the backfill is complete and your smart meters are fully operational, we will notify you so you can reconnect your car and enjoy the full benefits of your tariff".

1, I will refuse any split because my data is on the meter and on the DCC. Eon can't read it so it's their fault. The data is there and they can pull it. They can't bill be though until the backfill as its under ombudsman writing. My account is marked "U" till then. Also it's in ombudsman writing they have to backfill with readings. So if they try to do a split off two readings, I'll report them for non compliance.

2, if they take a long time to sort it, ie a year when my contract is up, any usage not charged then is free from 19th March till the date they fix it. That's ofgem law. They can't bill older than 12 months so they'll either fix it before then and back bill me or whatever. Win win regardless

3, I can't use the smart tarrif part and add my car until the backfill is correct. So I'm stuck doing it manually between them 6 hours. They have however (they'll fix it guaranteed) added 3 months to my next drive tarrif. So I'll let them figure it out and they have till the day that ends when I'll switch regardless because I've had enough of this dishonest company!

Hope your ombudsman case goes through. Make sure they put in writing they'll backfill your data with readings as then it's legally binding. Eon aren't bothering too much with us because they're busy getting ovo moved over. It must be costing them a fortune when they've fixed their lil external issue but can't fix an in house, their fault backfill script
