@DiB - actually I was probably wrong with my message about profile class/SSC : this all changed last autumn when market wide half hourly settlement (MHHS) was introduced
Profile classes and SSC (previously MTC) are now completely different, so profile 00 is now perfectly acceptable for domestic users
This explains the changes to MPAN codes

@geoffers maybe but it seems not everyone knows this and if it’s not that problem it’s another

Indeed, 00 is quite 'normal' now on many smart tariffs. It's very similar to some domestic export profiles being 08, often seen with some smaller energy suppliers -
I've been on Optimise since the weekend and I have noticed a few times that it is pulling from the grid when the app is saying solar is charging my battery and powering my home!! So im actually being charged for importing at a higher rate when I shouldn't be be being charged at all!!
Eon say it's because my battery is in learning mode so will have to wait and see.
Apart from that it seems to be working quite well -
@Nigel_EONNext Nigel, there's mention of a monthly subscription in the future for this tariff? Surely any potential saving will be removed by such a financial tactic? Can you confirm please that post introductory offers, the subscription will or won't be applied? Thank you
-
@brydekirkvh - sorry for being slow on this
Right now, no subscription. If that does happen it will be made really clear on the website and in advance of renewal.
It will not be a case that it's introduced mid contract/tariff. -
I've been on Optimise now for nearly a month and it doesn't exactly do what it says on the tin!! It doesn't charge the battery at the cheapest times like overnight it will charge in the day at 18p kwh because it's going to sell at 28p between 5pm and 7pm!! There is not much transparency with the 3p kwh booster as they say it is factored into the live prices on the app, but overall it does seem to make more from solar than I'm actually importing leaving me with a minus each day so from that point of view it's working but can't help thinking it could be making a tad more if charging at the right time.
I was quoted an average of 9pkwh import but at the moment I can't see me getting that as the last few days have all been around 15pkwh and since I started the lowest has been 9pkwh but only on a couple of occasionsLast edited by Sidney100; 08-05-26 at 15:46.
