I bought my Solar panels and battery etc through EON. They provided me with GivEnergy equipment who have today gone into administration. I just wondered where I stand as someone who has paid for this service ?

When buying solar panels through your energy supplier from a third-party company, your contract for the purchase and installation is typically with the third-party company (the installer), not the energy supplier.
The supplier is acting as a referrer or partner, while the installer handles the MCS certification, warranty, and installation
It may therefore come down to who your contract was actually with - the energy supplier or the solar installer.
In a construction scenario
Liability for Subcontractors: Generally, if you contracted with Company A (the referrer), they are liable for the performance of their subcontractors (Company B), even if they used a third party to do the work.
Negligent Referral: If the referring company recommended the installer, they may be responsible for ensuring the installer is competent.
Direct Contracts: If the referring company simply passed on a recommendation, but you (the customer) contracted directly with the installer, the liability shifts to the installer. If the referrer acted as a main contractor, they remain liable
