Im currently on the next drive tariff with solar and batteries which is working out very well for me, I hear once my tariff runs out April 26 I won’t be allowed to stay on the drive tariffs as I don’t own an ev, is this correct ?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@WizzyWigg thanks for the reply, I’ve just had a look into the tariff they are recommending and to be honest it’s pants, there are other company’s offering far better rates than eon are offering so looks like I will be packing up my things and moving in the new year, unfortunately or not depending how they will look at it is there will be a lot of people leaving them who are in the same situation as myself who will have to come off the drive app. Hey ho that’s their decision, once they see the amount of leavers they may reconsider in the future. Thanks again tho for your info
@meldrewreborn not sure, not really looked into it to be honest, I wonder if there’s a loop hole as I’m sure a mobility scooter could be classed as a ev 🤣

I'm not sure they actually check, but I believe you might need the v5 or lease agreement of an EV / PHEV if they ask for it...
These tariffs only work for the suppliers when they avoid 50kWh being sucked at peak time and get to rinse the 10 kWh household use at higher rate. A battery user doesn't offer these benefits to them so I can understand why they don't want the Drive tariff more freely available.
Also they don't need to be as generous as they are being to achieve moving people off the SVR, so I can see them becoming less generous in the future - Drive is already worse than it was 12 month's ago, OVOs is now terrible and Octopus has degraded its, EDF the same...
I suppose the side effect is making the 'Smart' tariffs more attractive where the supplier has extra income streams from demand flexibility.
@meldrewreborn one of them was about £900 a trade in the dealer wanted rid of. Sold as seen for spares or repair, but driveable. Leaf might be a good bet for V2H.
