According to the Energy Saving Trust 58% of your homes heat can escape through your home not being insulated or having poor insulation 🤯 Insulation works like a thermal shield - this gives your home a cosy blanket to keep it warmer in winter and also helps to keep your home cooler in summer.This isn't just about keeping warm though, it's also about putting money back into your own pocket! Am I eligible?
The GBIS is a government initiative to improve energy efficiency of eligible homes. It's open to homeowners and renters with 2 eligibility groups:- General Group: Your home needs to be in Council Tax band A-D (England) or A-E (Scotland and Wales) and have and EPC rating of D or below.
- Low Income Group: This is for households receiving means tested benefits
- You can also check your EPC rating online 👉 GOV UK: Find an energy certificate

What kinds of insulation are available?
The GBIS scheme is only for adding or upgrading home insulation. With free or discounted insulation for the following:- Cavity wall insulation
- Loft insulation
- Room-in-roof insulation
The important bits...
- You DO NOT need to be an E.ON Next customer to apply.
- Homeowners, Landlords and Tenants (with Landlord's permission) can all apply.
- The scheme is available in England, Wales and Scotland only. The scheme isn't currently available in Northern Ireland.
- Being eligible doesn't automatically guarantee free insulation - other factors will be assessed.
- Free loft insulation is only available when installed together with cavity wall insulation. Subsidised loft insulation can be installed on it's own with prices starting from £500.
- Free loft insulation is only available if your loft has no existing insulation. We do not provide insulation top up's.
