Hi there,
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer and had smart gas and electricity meters fitted exactly six weeks ago. I'm still not seeing any readings from my meters in my account. I e-mailed about this after three weeks and was told to just wait a bit longer to see if things would sort themselves, but nothing has happened yet (and it also seems like people on this forum with similar issues have got the problem resolved in the past). I can confirm that the meters themselves are taking readings, and the IHD connects correctly to the meters.

I'd be grateful if someone from Eon could follow up on this, please. Many thanks!

I would have expected a connection by now. Sounds like a read schedule bug, so I'll grab a @PeterT_EONNext for you :)

While you wait though @TheGodofBiscuits , please could you run the meters through one of the tools in my toolkit? It's over at https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk/ and helps me out a lot. I just need to know whether it says they're working or not. :)

@theunknowntech Hi there, I've run the linked tool on both meters, and it confirms that they are running in smart mode.

@Beki_EONNext says it takes up to 8 weeks for meters to first link through the DCC and they (eon next) don't attempt a fix before that period has expired.

I can understand this from eon next's point of view - banging ones head against a brick wall is seldom productive, but personally I think its a ridiculous state of affairs.

Eight weeks is the timeout, but I would usually expect something by now. The fact DCC is seeing them working in smart mode is a good sign that the connection is healthy.

The next step from here is to try and get a few SMETS Commands run against the meters to prod them to wake up properly.

If you check your account now, you should see some readings on there, none had been taken yet but I can confirm we're fully connected to your meters and will take them each months now to use in your bills.
