Hi
I was with HUB Energy so am in the process of being switched onto an E-on Next tariff. However, I like the look of the Sainsbury's Energy tariff as it's identical to E-on except that you get Nectar points with it.
As they are one and the same company in terms of supplying electricity & gas, is switching between the two quick or do you have to go through the same long process that you would do when switching to another provider? How would I go about doing this?
Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer from E.ON Next to Sainsbury's Energy. This is due to E.ON Next partnering with Sainsbury's to supply Sainsbury's Energy Customers. Once your transfer from Hub Energy is completed please get in touch and we can have a look at tariffs for you.
You can contact us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by searching E.ON Next or by email at hi@eonnext.com
May I take this opportunity to welcome you to E.ON Next and I hope you decide to stay with us.
Have a lovely evening

Thanks for this. I presume this means I just have to go through the switching process to go to Sainsbury's Energy then?

Actually, there is a way to do this. I noticed HUB Energy bit the dust recently and triggered SoLR. Provided you've not signed up to any fixed contracts with E.On yet and you're still on the deemed contract, you can use a hack to get around this blocker. But it'll take you at least a month to pull it off.
If you want to do this, you'll need to "bounce back" by leaving E.On and signing up with a completely unrelated supplier, then wait a few weeks before switching to Sainsbury's Energy and then wait a couple of weeks for that switch to run. I would honestly prefer it if suppliers didn't try to be so clingy about SoLR arranged deemed contracts - SoLR is not meant to mean forcing a customer to stay after all, especially if they wish to leave (roughly 98% of SoLR'd customers usually do). -

As my account says I'm supposed to be fully set up with Eon Next by this Tuesday (21st), can I start the switch process to Sainsbury's Energy today whilst the current tariff is still available as I presume nothing will be done until Monday anyway?

Can an energy company change their tariff rate whilst you are switching to them, or are they bound to the tariff rate you signed up for at the start of the process if it's a fixed rate? I just don't want Sainsbury's Energy to change the unit prices whilst I'm switching.
